Timing
Once weekly, same day each week
Duration
Labeled titration over months; do not skip steps

Branded pens follow a 0.25 → 0.5 → 1.0 → 1.7 → 2.4 mg weekly ladder. Compounded vials need the label concentration before any draw. STRAND will not auto-escalate.

  1. Weeks 14250 mcg
  2. Weeks 58500 mcg
  3. Weeks 9121 mg
  4. Weeks 13161.7 mg
  5. Weeks 17522.4 mg

Reconstitution note

Compounded vials require a user-entered mg/mL. Never infer concentration from the name. 2.5 mg at 10 mg/mL is 25 units, not 2.5 units.

Storage

Pens: follow the label. Compounded vials: fridge, light-protected.

Cautions

FDA has documented 5–20× overdoses from mg ↔ units confusion on compounded products. Always show mg + mL + units together.

Evidence posture

Approved products exist for labeled indications. Compounded copies are not FDA-reviewed.
